Joanne Conger is the Owner and Administrator of At the Board Table, a nonprofit leadership and governance training organization dedicated to strengthening boards, executive leaders, and mission-driven organizations through experiential learning, strategic facilitation, and emotionally intelligent governance practices.

With more than two decades of experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, communications, and organizational development, Joanne has built a reputation as a fearless and trusted guide for organizations navigating growth, change, and leadership complexity. Her work has supported nonprofits across the Pacific Northwest in developing stronger boards, clearer storytelling, healthier governance cultures, and more sustainable community impact.

A professional storyteller and educator, Joanne has trained speakers for numerous TEDx events throughout the region, including TEDxSeattle and TEDxSnoIsleLibraries, and is the organizer of TEDxEverett and TEDxWomen Everett. Her background in theater and performance—combined with advanced graduate training in nonprofit leadership—gives her a distinctive ability to help leaders communicate with authenticity, clarity, and influence.

The trainings offered by At the Board Table reflect Joanne's 25 years of experience working with nonprofit staff and boards, with the last ten years focused on building effective boards of directors around the United States. The common issues found during these sessions: staff and board disconnection, board member over-reach, 

Joanne holds a master’s degree in nonprofit leadership from Seattle University. Her professional experience includes leadership and fundraising work with organizations such as FareStart, Freedom Project, Catholic Housing Services, and other mission-centered nonprofits focused on housing, recovery, poverty, and human dignity.
